Using Accent Colours

The entire populous has a different idea on what makes their signature style. Whether you like to wear certain styles or are not really into fashion as a whole and prefer clothing with functionality, accent colours are worth knowing about.

When deciding on wearing and outfit you need to consider your main colours overall “feel” or perception to create a balanced outfit. If you are looking to go for a soft, deep, cool, warm, light or vibrant feel that will be your starting point so the outfit can be worn with intended effect.

Perception of your outfit can be placed into “non-memorable” and “memorable” contexts. Non-memorable colours are the neutral colours that create a foundation for the outfit. Using the likes of browns, blacks, whites, greys  as that foundation allow you to build up the outfit to having our memorable element, or accent colour.

Accent colours take the focus of the outfit to that particular point. These are often more vibrant additions and help to create a point of difference in the outfit that you may not necessarily wear every day. Its a great idea to have a wardrobe with a selection of neutral colours to choose from then adding the accent colours when appropriate.
